Why Teldat?

The Caja Rural Group and its technological partner, RSI, selected Teldat to deliver an integral solution for three main reasons.

  • First of all, thanks to its more than 40 years of experience in the financial sector, Teldat is the undisputed leader for communication products. It came up with a perfect solution for the Caja Rural Group, combining fiber communications lines with 5G/4G for WAN Internet, and maintaining MPLS connections.

  • Secondly, via the SASE solution, Teldat was able to provide total cybersecurity (both at branches and the cloud) for the Caja Rural Group.

  • The third key point has been the proximity and availability shown to the RSI project partner (surpassing that of any other competitor). The close relationship built between our experts and theirs is based on shared knowledge and the fact that our technology is fully Spanish (and doesn’t rely on technologies from third countries). Moreover, Teldat’s cybersecurity solution bears the “Made in Europe” stamp.

Challenge Caja Rural by Teldat

Challenge

The Caja Rural Group was faced with a communications scenario that lacked flexibility, as well as a network without proper security. Each of the 34 entities that make up the Caja Rural Group had its own communications network, based on MPLS and Legacy technologies (both for their main and back-up lines).

This translates into an outdated scenario that did not allow the Caja Rural Group to make the most of its telecommunication networks. In addition, this very fragmented scenario ended up being very expensive. The Caja Rural Group and its partner, RSI, were looking for a modern telecommunications solution. The initial goal was to generate synergies between the 34 group entities by increasing network flexibility and meeting the requirements of modern financial solutions.

As part of this challenge, the Caja Rural Group was looking to move away from Legacy environments and increase the use of Internet lines, while providing a cybersecurity layer that meets the requirements of the Spanish financial sector.

Teldat offered an integral solution encompassing the whole scenario: a unique telecommunications network (based on SD-WAN with routers, switching and telephony) that is a modern, powerful, flexible, and consolidated tool against cyberthreats.

Solution

The Teldat option, an innovative SASE model, offers three key assets (an SD-WAN network, the double cybersecurity layer and Teldat devices).

The double cybersecurity layer Teldat deployed in the Caja Rural Group is made of a first Teldat be.Safe Pro cybersecurity layer integrated in Teldat devices installed at branch offices (or on the move). The second layer protects the data and traffic passing through the cloud. Our double security layer is fully aligned with the recommendations of the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) and the National Security Scheme (ENS), which proves just how robust it is.

Teldat also installed the be.Safe XDR solution, which provides total control over the entire Caja Rural Group network, ensuring visibility and transparency. The aim is to help detect anomalies and make informed decisions on threats.

The devices installed in branch offices or remote locations are Teldat-M2 (for fiber connections) and Teldat-M10 (for 5G/4G connections). In addition, each of the 34 financial entities that make up the Caja Rural Group will have a Windbit Ares-640 devices in their central offices. A high-performing multi-WAN server platform will be used to manage all of the client’s needs. In addition, our Teldat and Windbit devices offer a totally segmented solution that meets the requirements of the Caja Rural Group. Each entity has its own SD-WAN segment, thus guaranteeing their communications will be kept separate. This was key for our client.
